Karen Lee Fontaine

Karen Fontaine received her bachelor's degree from Valparaiso University, a nursing degree from Lutheran Hospital in St. Louis, and her master's degree in psychiatric nursing from Rush University in Chicago. Karen is a Professor of Nursing at Purdue University Calumet, where she has been teaching for 20 years. She has won many publishing awards including the American Journal of Nursing Book of the Year Award and the Sigma Theta Tau Nursing Book Review Award. Karen is a frequent presenter at national seminars covering psychiatric nursing and alternative therapies. She is a member of the International Society of Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurses and the National Alliance for the Mentally Ill.
