Richard Tanler has more than 30 years of software industry experience and is a nationally recognized expert on business intelligence, demand chain management, SCM, CRM, ERP, and data warehousing. He is the author of Intranet Data Warehouse (John Wiley & Sons, 1997). e.Intelligence is the second company that he has founded, after successfully launching Information Advantage in 1990 and guiding it through an IPO (Nasdaq: IACO) in 1997. Before Information Advantage, Tanler was a member of the senior staff at Metaphor Computer Systems. During his tenure, Metaphor introduced the first client/server business intelligence application suite. Before that, Tanler held marketing positions at Dial Corporation, McKesson, and PepsiCo., where he was responsible for marketing sales forecasting for the Pepsi-owned franchises.
In 1999, Ernst & Young named Tanler Entrepreneur of the Year from Minnesota.
