Tariq Magdon-Ismail

Jim Mauro is a principal engineer at Sun Microsystems, where he works on systems performance. Jim has 30 years’ industry experience, coauthored Solaris Internals (First and Second Editions), Solaris Performance and Tools, and numerous columns on Solaris performance and internals.

Brendan Gregg is a staff engineer at Sun Microsystems, and works in the exclusive Fishworks engineering group alongside the three creators of DTrace (Bryan, Mike and Adam). He is the creator of the DTraceToolkit, the DTrace FAQ, and is the coauthor of Solaris Performance and Tools as well as numerous other articles about DTrace. Prior to joining Sun, Brendan was a Solaris consultant and instructor, and taught DTrace worldwide including authoring and delivering DTrace workshops. He currently works on advanced kernel and user-land technologies, and is the performance lead for the Sun Storage 7000 series of products while continuing to be a leader in the OpenSolaris DTrace community. His more recent projects included writing the DTrace IP, TCP and UDP providers, the DTrace JavaScript provider, and the ZFS L2ARC.

Tariq Magdon-Ismail is a staff performance engineer at VMware. Prior to VMware, Tariq was at Sun Microsystems where he worked on large system performance, kernel scalability, and memory management architecture. Tariq has over 10 years of Solaris experience and was a contributing author to Solaris Internals (Second Edition).

Chad Mynhier is a master consultant at Forsythe Solutions Group, where he focuses primarily on solving performance problems on Solaris systems. Chad has contributed a number of bug fixes and enhancements to OpenSolaris, including the first external contribution to DTrace.
