Blanche Ettinger

Blanche Ettinger is a professor in the Department of Secretarial and Office Information Systems at Bronx Community College of The City University of New York.  She received her M.S. degree from Hunter College of The City University of New York and an Ed.D. in business education from New York University.  Blanche is recognized nationally for her professional contributions and involvement in business education.  Among the many awards, Blanche received the prestigious Delta Pi Epsilon National Research Award for her dissertation on identifying word processing competencies to develop a curriculum at the post-secondary level.  She has served on many executive boards of college and professional associations.  Through the years, Blanche has been a speaker, moderator, and panelist at national and local professional seminars.  Among her publications (some with co-authors) are:  Machine Transcription, Applied Language Skills, Third Edition; Medical Transcription; career series that include Opportunities in Secretarial Careers, Opportunities in Office Occupations, and Opportunities in Customer Service Careers; A Secretary’s Reference Guide for use at Bronx Community College.  

 

Edda Perfetto received her Master’s degree from Hunter College of the City University of New York and an Ed.D. from New York University.  For over thirty-five years, Edda was a dedicated teacher, supervisor, and Dean of Students on the secondary level. She also taught secretarial studies at the community college level. Her interest in providing instructional materials that were relevant and exciting to her students motivated Edda to focus her doctoral studies in the area of curriculum and instructional design.  She co-authored Machine Transcription, Applied Language Skills, Third Edition; conducted seminars and workshops on methods of teaching business education subjects; and was actively involved on the executive boards of  professional organizations.  Well-respected by her colleagues, Edda received numerous professional awards as an outstanding educator.
