Marketing Specialist
Position Summary:
Working as a high-performance team player, the position of marketing specialist
is responsible for cost-effectively creating and executing promotions to maximize
awareness and sales for products published by the IT Pro/Cert group within the
Pearson Technology Group. These promotions include trade shows, advertising,
brochures, and other end-user marketing initiatives. The position also requires
copy writing, frequent communication with designers, editors, authors, and customersas
well as the execution of various marketing activities. Success in the position
will be judged upon the specialist¹s ability to generate and execute revenue
opportunities. The goal of all activities will be to creatively and cost-effectively
capture the attention of our end-users, and prompt them to take action on our
products.
Responsibilities:
Generate selected cluster campaigns and pieces, brochures, teasers, and
other marketing premiums to increase awareness and sales of products.
Write copy and give design vision for selected brochures, fliers, and
other premiums. Work with design team to ensure materials are produced to spec.
Plan and supervise presence at assigned conferences and trade shows supporting
diverse product lines.
Work with Executive / Marketing Manager to establish model for presence
and sales opportunities at conferences that do not afford or support exhibition
/ booth space
Create promotions/strategies that increase booth traffic, augment sales,
and help us gain attention among our end-users pre/post/during assigned events.
Manage booth at selected trade shows, overseeing set-up and break down
as well as booth duty schedules. Some travel required.
Write copy for assigned online promotions and other forms of electronic
B2C messaging.
Work with online and product marketing managers to develop and implement
promotions and title awareness on the imprint web sites. This includes monitoring
the sites weekly to ensure campaigns are appearing in a timely matter.
Qualifications:
Ability to manage time effectively to balance many projects and shifting
priorities.
Ability to create innovative and accurate marketing materials and strategies
on time within limited budgets.
Ability to stay abreast of a constantly-evolving marketplace and acting
as champion of a diverse product line.
Ability to disseminate complex technical information and translating
it into layman's terms Self-motivated professional with 3+ years demonstrated
experience effectively marketing products.
College Degree preferred, but will accept equivalent years of successful
work experience.
Must be team player with strong communications skills.
Organizational expertise and writing proficiency required.
Some design skills, or at minimum a keen 'eye for design' required.
Previous experience in Conference/trade show presence and development
of creative marketing materials.
Proficiency as a user of personal computers and software applications
required.
Ability to travel as needed to:customers, sales meetings, tradeshows
and conferences.
