Praise For Git Essentials LiveLessons (Video Training)

"Probably the DEFINITIVE training series on the ESSENTIALS of Git … you will not find any that are tighter, cleaner, more efficient and crystal clearer, to-the-point and free of time-wasting, extraneous unnecessary explanations [for the clueless] or time-wasting, irrelevant diversions into the esoterica of Git. This series is a model of exactly how an ESSENTIALS class should be done."

"Very well explained. I didn’t know anything about Git and now I can track my repository locally and remotely. Thank you!!!"

"Very well presented. The presenter is friendly and makes the content very approachable. [This course] covers wider distributed version control issues - as well as git specifically. [The] presenter works through examples on his Linux PC, and gives interesting advice on using the various git commands. (For example, he likes to always be as specific as possible with the commands). [It] also covers ‘remotes’ very well - e.g. systems such as GitHub and BitBucket. Really enjoyed the course. I’d especially recommend it to beginners and intermediates."

"I found this course to be exceptionally helpful for learning git. It seems targeted to viewers that have a reasonable good general understanding of why someone would use a version control system and for the general problems that developers would face when several people work together on source code files. The course very effectively explains the mechanics for achieving a natural range of operations that a junior or experienced developer would want to use git for. The author strikes a nice balance between pace, detail, and sophisticated examples. I suspect that the only people for whom this course would not be appropriate would be people who were extremely new to software development or people who were very experienced developers that would prefer a very abbreviated list of the commands needed to perform specific operations. Everyone else - which includes me - would probably find this a noble effort at this subject."

"This video series has helped me use git more confidently—without the constant fear of wrecking things! Very sensible organization of topics. Emphasizes the “what” and “why” of a dev workflow, then shows how git puts that in practice. Helps one form a coherent mental model underlying the confusing plethora of git incantations."
