Red Hat Linux 7 Unleashed

Red Hat Linux 7 Unleashed

By William Ball

Summary

In this chapter you learned how to start and stop NFS servers, mount and unmount directories, and create and maintain the configuration files for clients and servers.

NFS, a rather straightforward tool, is one of the power features that lets you work not only with other Linux systems, but with other variants of UNIX as well. From a user's standpoint, it provides a seamless bridge between clients and servers so that they can keep to their tasks instead of trying to remember the drive letter for their home directory.
