DNS Resources
Although this chapter covers the most-needed DNS information, a complete discussion of DNS could easily fill a large book. Here are some further sources of DNS documentation:
- /usr/share/doc/bind-8.2.2_P5/—Note that the exact directory name might be different, depending on your Red Hat distribution. This directory contains CHANGES, INSTALL, TODO, and Version. It also contains directories bog/, html/, misc/, notes/, rfc/, and tmac/. The html/ and rfc/ directories are especially interesting.
- http://www.isc.org/products/bind/bind4.html—Documentation for the old BIND 4.
- http://www.dns.net/dnsrd/—The DNS Resources directory.
- http://www.isc.org/bind.html—Internet Software Consortium's BIND page, with BIND downloads and links to other valuable information. This page includes links to the Bind Operations Guide, in (BIND 4) HTML, Postscript, and Lineprinter.
