Quiz

  1. What Windows Control Panel option helps you install and uninstall application programs?

  2. What happens if you insert an application program's CD-ROM in your PC's CD-ROM drive and the application is not already installed?

  3. Where can you modify your Windows XP installation options?

  4. Name some ways to uninstall application programs?

  5. Why would you never want to uninstall Windows XP?

Exercises

  1. Open the Add or Remove Programs window. Scroll through the list of installed programs to make sure that programs you no longer use are not installed. If one or more of these programs appear, select them and click the Remove button to remove the application. By regularly checking the installed application list, you will keep your hard disk free of programs you no longer use that consume disk space.

  2. Open the Windows Components Wizard. Make sure that all the Windows XP's Accessories options are installed. By doing this, you help ensure that your system is ready for all the remaining lessons in this tutorial.
