Workshop

The quiz and exercise questions are designed to test your knowledge of the material covered in this hour. The answers are in Appendix C, "Answers to Quizzes."

Quiz

  1. True or false: Movie Maker's clips must come from the same source and be the same file type.

  2. What is a frame?

  3. What is a disadvantage to saving your videos in a high-quality format?

  4. What can you trim: a clip in the collections area, a clip in the storyboard, or both?

  5. How can zooming improve your use of the storyboard?

Exercises

  1. Make a movie! A video named Windows Movie Maker Sample file.wmv appears in your My Documents folder. Load the video and adjust the clips. Put the clips in a different order to create some comedic action.

  2. Make a slide show using still images that you grab from your favorite Web page. Right-click over any Web page's image and select Save Picture As from the pop-up menu. After saving several images, put them together in a slide show and add narration over them if you have attached a microphone to your computer.
