What About Video?

So far, most of this hour has focused on audio playback and recording. Yet, your computer richly supports the playback of video, as you well know by now. What about video files?

It turns out that little changes between the way you manage video and the way you manage audio files. Use the File, Open option to open a video file as opposed to an audio file, and the Windows Media Player plays the file.

Windows Media Player supports the most common video formats, including those listed in Table 21.1. You won't run across a common video format that Windows Media Player does not support. When you click on a video file on the Web, the Windows Media Player starts automatically and plays that video clip.
