Summary
This hour described several system tools you can run to manage and monitor your disk, memory, and other system resources. You can display statistics about your memory, disk, and system usage. Windows handles resources better than previous versions of Windows, but these tools give you additional ways to monitor the usage.
Dr. Watson gives you a perfect snapshot of your system, either when you request the snapshot or when trouble occurs. The Dr. Watson program records vital system information when system errors cause your system to shut down so that technical support people can diagnose the problem better. Sometimes, Dr. Watson's log files offer suggestions you can try to eliminate the problem.
You don't have to remember to run routine tasks because the Scheduled Tasks program runs them for you. You control all aspects of all automated programs that you schedule so that important system check-up and fine-tuning take place when you're not using your PC.
The System Restore helps cure many ills. If your system is working fine one day but erratically the next, run System Restore and revert your system to a previous time when things ran well.
