Quiz
-
Where does Windows XP initially send all printed output?
-
If you plug in a new printer but Plug and Play does not properly detect the printer, what must you run to install the printer?
-
If you have two or more printers attached to your computer, how can you direct output to a specific one?
-
True or false: If you issue print commands to print ten documents in a row, you can change the order in which the documents print as long as you make the change to the documents that are still waiting to print.
-
What fonts are considered to be the best Windows fonts?
Exercises
-
Print a document that's at least ten pages. When the printer icon appears in your taskbar, double-click the icon. Watch how Windows updates the status of the print job as each page prints. If you leave this window open and print more documents, those documents will appear in the window.
-
Open your Fonts window and look through the fonts you have installed on your Windows system. Notice the variety. Print samples of both TrueType and non-TrueType fonts to see if you can tell the difference. On some systems, the non-TrueType fonts are similar, but often the TrueType fonts are superior to the non-TrueType fonts.
