Customizing the Explorer Bar

Keep in mind that you can display several different items to the left of the Internet Explorer window. The left windowpane is generically called the Explorer bar , although you can select specific bars such as the Personal bar to place inside the Explorer bar's area.

Select View, Explorer Bar and you'll see a list of items you can display inside your Explorer bar. These include a Search box, a Favorites list, a Media box, a History box, contacts from Microsoft Outlook if you have it installed, and folders on your computer so you can manage and display files from within Internet Explorer just as you can do inside Windows Explorer.
