Moving Between Applications
When open applications are not maximized, you might be able to see all of those open windows overlapped, onscreen. In this case, you can click any window to bring it forward. Often, however, it's easier to work in a single application by maximizing the applicationwindow. Switching between applications then requires a different procedure. You'll most likely use the taskbar to switch from application to application by clicking the minimized application button on the taskbar.
After opening several applications—such as WordPad, Paint, and Solitaire, for example— use the taskbar by following these steps:
- Click the button on the taskbar that represents the application you want to bring forward (see Figure 6.6).
Figure 6.6 All open and minimized application windows appear on the taskbar.
- To switch to another open application, click its button on the taskbar. The open window minimizes back to the taskbar and is replaced by the next application you select.
