The IE5 Toolbars
Internet Explorer has four toolbars, as shown in Figure 17.3:
Figure 17.3 Internet Explorer has four toolbars.
- Standard Buttons: This toolbar contains buttons for the most common commands, such as returning to your start (home) page. To use a button, click on it.
- Address: Here you enter the address of the Web page or Internet resource you wish to view. You can choose a previously viewed page by clicking on the arrow and selecting it from the list that appears. To learn more about addresses, see "Visiting a Web Site" later in this lesson.
- Links: This toolbar contains buttons that jump you to useful pages on the Web, such as Microsoft's home page. You can add your favorite pages to this toolbar. For more information, click Help and search for toolbar or favorites.
- Radio: The radio toolbar lets you listen to radio broadcasts from around the world. You can add your favorite stations
Displaying a toolbar is an option. If a toolbar is not displayed as shown in Figure 17.3, choose View, Toolbars, and select the toolbar you wish to display. A check mark appears next to a displayed toolbar. Repeat these same steps to remove the check mark and hide the toolbar.
As you point with your mouse to each icon on the toolbar, the icon is displayed in color and a frame appears around the icon, giving it a 3D effect.
Table 17.1 lists each icon found on the Standard Buttons toolbar and gives a brief explanation of each icon.
