13. Heath [1989], “Lessons from Vitruvius,” is an excellent overview of Vitruvius. The assertion is that Vitruvius sets forth a design method, essentially a branching-tree approach, that leads one to choose among 45 house types. This is a major reference with respect to the use of exemplars and of simplified design methods.
