Lee argued that Wikipedia’s labor supply should not be a problem given United States residents’ surplus of leisure time, which should enable Wikipedia to thrive so long as even a small fraction of that leisure time is allocated towards Wikipedia. But it is not enough to know that Wikipedia has a potential labor supply; instead, we have to explain why people will allocate their time to Wikipedia rather than the many other professional and leisure activities competing for their available time.
