In my last post I mentioned that I was looking to cut out the remaining luxuries from our ever tightening home budget. In this post I discuss trimming the dining out fund.
We used to eat out about twice on the weekend. Now, we’ve limited that to none or once because our kids eat free on Sunday night at one of our favorite Mexican restaurants. That way we only have to pay for two adults, which saves us $7. Every bit helps when you are on a tight budget.
In fact, I find that there are online deals for “Kids Eat Free” nights in our hometown. Sunday and Monday seem to be the big discount nights. I see an occasional Tuesday, Wednesday or Thursday. My advice to you is to Google “kids eat free” and your town to see if you can find any good deals to help your dining out budget.
Even if you aren’t unemployed, “buy one get one free” deals are always nice to find.
I’d love for you to share your comments with our readers about how to manage finances during this rough economy.
