Social Networking for the DBA/Developer

I'm on a few social networking sites, like LinkedIn, but I'll be honest that I'm not very active on them. It certainly isn't because I'm not technology-driven - I'm at my PC all day.

I also don't think it's because of my age. I'm not 14 years old, but I'm pretty comfortable communicating in any medium, analog or digital.

I think the main reason I don't spend a lot of time on Social Network sites is that I don't have a lot of time to begin with! I'm married, working at a high-stress job, worrying about my kids and my parents and trying to carve out a little time to learn more about my profession, and every once in a while I sleep or eat.

Of course, I do interact socially, even with my tech friends. I just tend to do it through e-mails, my various blogs, and the forums I answer. Now if those networks could combine all that...
