I've usually found that it's always a good idea to do two things with my code: have someone else review it, and take a look at it later.
If you're not having your code reviewed, make it a new habit. And never, ever, ever get mad at the person who reviews it. They are only trying to help.
And if you don't refactor your code often, you should. If you're like me, you're always learning something new, and one corrected statement can save you LOTS of time.
