The Service Broker is a powerful tool that you can use to build disconnected applications, such as Service Oriented Architectures.

But it can do more as well. In this blog entry, Rushi Desai explains how to use Servive Broker to pull down content from the web. That could be very useful, and could allow you to create "mash up" applications.
