Have you tuned your Facebook privacy settings yet? How's that working out for you?
Are you my Friend, maybe a Friend of Friends? Do you understand the difference between the two? I don't. Where did you get your information??
There is no online help located close to the Privacy settings page. If you track through the blogs, there is some information. There is a tutorial, but it's a dead link on my system. Maybe it's a Flash video, and my removal of Flash has caused this? If so, why isn't there a note and link to help me get Flash, same as that provided by Yahoo and other sites with a Flash dependency?
And as I scroll http://blog.facebook.com/blog.php?post=196629387130 , I'm no closer to understanding the roles offered by the security subsystem. The title, "New Tools to Control Your Experience," seems oddly inappropriate. We use these tools to control others' Experiences, right?
There's a lot of scrolling to do here! I flash to the comments only to find more than a few problems, reported by those happy users now made happy by the new system, as indicated in the blog.
I don't get it. I do security administration, on lots of systems. This one seems to offer few answers and maybe only a feeling of actual privacy.
Until more is known, it's probably best to consider all your data in Facebook to be available to public, unless Friends or Friends of Friends (whatever that is) tell you differently, by confirming their access & views.
